Yesterday morning was a great morning. It was Sunday so I didn't have to work, it was not too cold so I went outside with my coffee to enjoy the sun, and it was another day with
my son Lincoln. Yesterday was a good day for a lot of reasons and yesterday will have memories I can keep forever.
Today will be different though because today is not yesterday. Today I will wake up to a new challenge, a new hill to climb, a new bridge to cross. I don't always look forward to today when it seems yesterday was so fulfilling and wonderful. Today I may feel fear or be stressed right from the start and I will not want to walk out the front door away from my child who is suffering and in pain.
Tomorrow could not come soon enough.
But what if we could go back to yesterday? Would the sun still rise in the same way? Would the coffee taste the same? Would there be anything to enjoy if yesterday was every day? What if yesterday we did not have cancer? What if we did not need chemo? Wouldn't it be a dream come true if we could go back before this all happened? But would it happen again?
I searched the bible for the word yesterday and only a handful of verses were found. The bible IS a book of yesterday's but it speaks mostly of tomorrow.
It is a book of hope and there is no hope in yesterday , only in tomorrow.
There is no hope in the yesterday that flooded Japan. There is no hope in the yesterday that took the twin towers. There is no hope in the yesterday that Lincoln was diagnosed with leukemia, but there is hope in tomorrow. Even today there will be suffering and pain, but tomorrow will be a better day better because tomorrow there is hope for a cure.
Heal me, lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise. (Jeremiah 17:14 NIV)
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8 NIV)

There is hope. You are right to keep pressing on, even through the hardest time in your life. This made me think of a song..."For if I'd never had a problem, I wouldn't know God could solve them, I'd never know what faith in God could do." (Through it All).
This passage also came to mind:
Romans 8:24-28
Hope. The Spirit intercedes for us. God works all things together for the good... Good passage. Refreshing to read.
Precious words, Brian. Keeping you and yours in prayer daily.
